Traffic accidents leave terrible consequences and serious psychological effects on victims’ relatives and friends, Politburo member Binh noted.
It is time for every Vietnamese to be become fully aware of the incalculable harm of this kind of disaster to the nation’s healthy human development, he said, stressing the need to bravely and sincerely recognise the truth that each accident involves the responsibilities of each individual, the entire community and the State.
The deputy PM urged drastic action to be taken for the safety of the current society, as well as for the future generations of the country, with the aim of building a peaceful society without any sufferings caused by traffic accidents.
Binh asked relevant State agencies, at both the central and local levels, units, organisations, individuals and the entire people to do everything possible to make transport in Vietnam safer and more civilised and modern.
He also called for people to join hands to support the families of victims of traffic accidents so that the consequences of crashes will soon be ameliorated and the dreams of the deceased’s children will not be left incomplete.
At the ceremony, the deputy PM and participants laid wreaths in commemoration of those who have been killed in traffic accidents.
