Vietnam Airlines adds nearly 900 flights during Tet holiday

NDO/VNA—Vietnam’s national flag carrier, Vietnam Airlines, will add nearly 900 flights during the peak period of the Tet (Lunar New Year) holiday from January 15 to February 13, 2017 to meet increased demand.

The additional flights offer 185,000 more seats, bringing the total number of seats on domestic flights during the holidays to more than 1.6 million, up 13% against normal days and 46% against the same period last year.

The additional flights are on ten domestic routes between cities with a high demand for travel, such as Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, Da Nang and major tourist destinations including Nha Trang, Hue and Phu Quoc.

Of these, the Hanoi–Ho Chi Minh City route will have the most additional flights with 327, followed by the Ho Chi Minh City–Da Nang route with 190 and the Ho Chi Minh City–Hue route with 136.
