The four universities are Hanoi University of Science and Technology, Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology, Da Nang University of Technology, and the National University of Civil Engineering.
The evaluation was carried out under the request of Vietnam’s Ministry of Education and Training, in April 2016, for the Vietnamese-French Training Programme of excellent Engineers (PFIEV) provided by the four universities.
After conducting preliminary surveys, a delegation of experts from the HCRES visited Vietnam in March of this year to carry out their assessment.
Established in 2013, the HCERES is a member of European Quality Assurance Register for Higher Education. It is an independent agency responsible for the evaluation of higher education institutions, research organisations, scientific cooperation foundations and the National Research Agency and research units.
They also evaluate the quality of the education provided and of the degrees delivered by higher education institutions, as well as publicly funded investment programmes and private companies dealing with research and higher education.
The HCERES provides an annual evaluation of around 50 training facilities and research institutions, 630 research units, 600 university training programmes and 300 master training programmes and 70 doctoral training programmes.
