Support fund launched for education, training and arts in Vietnam, Germany

The Dao Minh Quang Fund has been officially launched in the German capital of Berlin, with the aim of supporting projects under the fields of education, sustainable agricultural development, music and culture in Vietnam and Germany.

The Fund will contribute to promote general education in Vietnam; vocational training and higher education, as well as facilitating the transfer of scientific research and technologies between Vietnam and Germany.

In addition, the Fund is expected to support initiatives for start-up activities and sustainable development; musical talents, particularly in preserving German and Vietnamese folk songs; and cultural and musical exchange activities between the two countries.

Dr. Dao Minh Quang who lives in Berlin is the founder and Chairman of the Fund’s Council. Additional members of the Fund’s Council are Prof. Dr. Karin Weiss – former President of foreigner integration affairs of Brandenburg and Rheinland-Pfalz States; Prof. Dr. Dietrich Thränhardt – a political scientist under Münster University; Dr. Truong Hong Quang – a cultural translator and researcher; among others.

The Dao Minh Quang Fund has provided the first activities supporting education projects in Phu Tho province, as well as coordinating with the Vietnam National Academy of Music to help musical talents who are living in difficult circumstances.

At the launch ceremony, artists performed several national music works of Vietnam and German.

The Fund marked a new development step of the Overseas Vietnamese community in Germany, as they integrate further into the host country’s society, as well as enhancing the cooperation between the two countries.
