The event was attended by many officials from Russia’s ministries, Russian friends in the Russia-Vietnam Friendship Association, the Russia Veterans Association and representatives of overseas Vietnamese organizations in Moscow.

Speaking at the ceremony, on behalf of the Embassy's leaders, Minister-Counselor Lai Ngoc Doan reviewed the glorious journey of the Vietnamese people, affirming that the Vietnamese people did not forget the great help and sentiment given by the Russian people during the war against the US, as well as in the process of national reunification and building a law-governed socialist State.

In particular, Minister-Counselor Ngoc Doan highlighted the success of President Tran's visit to Russia last June, which has strengthened and deepened the comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership between Vietnam and Russia, raising the relationship to a new height.

In addition, the minister-counselor also noted the growth in the trade and investment sector between the two countries in the first six months of 2017, and hopes that the two sides will apply new measures to reach the target of US$ 10 billion in bilateral trade by 2020.

At the ceremony, the guests enjoyed traditional Vietnamese food and celebrated the friendship between the Vietnamese people and the Russian people.
