Vice President calls for more social responsibility among business community

Vice President Dang Thi Ngoc Thinh has called on Vietnamese businesses to step up the application of advanced technology in their operations and improve their corporate social responsibility in order to facilitate the country’s sustainable development and better serve customers.

The Vice President made the request at a reception in Hanoi on September 13 for participating businesses and entrepreneurs in the “Enterprises act for green environment and sustainable development” programme.

She hailed the Vietnam Union for Science Entrepreneurs (VUSE) and the Research Institute for Medium and Small Enterprises for hosting the programme, which aims to popularise current environmental laws and regulations among the Vietnamese business community, and encourage green production and environmentally-friendly products.

She also called on the VUSE to work closely with relevant organisations and businesses in drafting solutions and proposals to facilitate the development of the green economy while protecting the environment and ensuring the sustainable growth of the country.

* On the afternoon of the same day, Vice President Thinh also received a delegation of national contributors from Tra Vinh province, during which she hailed the guests’ contributions to national construction and defence.

She also asked Tra Vinh provincial authorities to provide better care for national contributors in the locality so that they can fully benefit from preferential policies designed for them.
