“Clean up the World 2018” campaign launched in BinhThuan

The “Clean up the World 2018” campaign entitled “Waste management for sustainable rural environment” emphasises the crucial role of environment management, particularly waste management in rural areas.

The event was launched in Binh Thuan province on September 15 by the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union Central Committee (HCMCYU), the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment and the People’s Committee of Binh Thuan province.

More than 500 Youth Union members and local people attended the event which aims to call on the community to join hands to protect the environment through practical activities to contribute to adapting to climate change and natural disaster prevention.

Through this campaign we wish to educate people about environmental protection and reduce the use of plastic bags to make our country cleaner and protect the people’s health, said Ngo Van Cuong, member of the Standing Committee of the HCMCYU.

At the launch ceremony, the HCMCYU presented garbage bins anditems in support of volunteer teams to collect and treat garbage at the locality.

After the ceremony, the volunteers and locals participated in collecting waste, planting trees and cleaning the beach in Chi Cong commune, Tuy Phong district.
