The job fair and career counselling day was co-organised by the Lao Dong Thu Do (Capital Labour) Newspaper, the Students’ Support Centre under the Vietnam National University - Hanoi and the Hanoi Centre for Job Services, aiming to orient careers for employees and create an effective bridge between enterprises and labourers.

Addressing the opening, Vice Chairman of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labour, Tran Thanh Hai, said that, in the context of the fourth Industrial Revolution, multiple opportunities and challenges are posed to trade unions and labourers. The issue on equipping workers with knowledge and skills in order to keep their jobs and meet the requirements of employment in the new era has become an urgent requirement, he stated.

Students and young labourers at the event will have a chance to discuss with the leaders of reputable corporations and consultants who will share their experiences on how to meet the needs of work in the fourth Industrial Revolution 4.0.

In addition, speakers will discuss future career trends, industry trends in the 4.0 era, human resource development strategies, and labour demand in Hanoi and neighbouring provinces in the international integration period.

At the festival, the organisers presented 25 scholarships worth VND50 million to disadvantaged students and those who scored high marks at the entrance exam to the Vietnam National University - Hanoi for the 2018 - 2019 academic year.

This is the 23rd season that the Lao Dong Thu Do Newspaper has organised the event and is also the second time the newspaper has coordinated with the Students’ Support Centre under the Vietnam National University - Hanoi.
