Seminar highlights revolutionary value of Truong Bon historical site

A seminar featuring the historical values and preservation of Truong Bon National Historical Site in My Son commune, Do Luong district, Nghe An province, was held on November 2 by the authorities of Nghe An province, as part of the activities to mark the 50th anniversary of the Truong Bon Victory.

In attendance at the event were Prof. Dr. Nguyen Xuan Thang, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Chairman of the Central Theoretical Council and Director of the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics, and Thuan Huu, Editor-in-chief of Nhan Dan newspaper, deputy head of the Party Commission for Communication and Education, and President of the Vietnam Journalists’ Association.

Nearly 30 presentations by researchers, experts and historical witnesses are focused on highlighting the historical and revolutionary values of the Truong Bon victory, the Truong Bon event in relation to the victory of the resistance war against the US, and the heroic and patriotic tradition of the Vietnamese people.

Secretary of Nghe An provincial Party Committee, Nguyen Dac Vinh, emphasised that Truong Bon not only reminds us of the sacrifice of 13 members of the youth volunteer force that was established to fill bomb craters alongside the roads in Truong Bon but also the other 1,240 martyrs who laid down their lives fighting on the battlefield in Truong Bon.

Prof. Dr. Nguyen Xuan Thang said that the seminar intends to affirm and supplement new documents on the historical values and significance of the resistance against the US and the great sacrifice of the armed forces and people, particularly the youth volunteers in Truong Bon.

The seminar contributed to educating the younger generations on the heroic tradition and patriotism of the Vietnamese people, while affirming the immortal truth of the great power and unity of the entire people in the history of national protection and development.
