Northern region to welcome new wave of cold air

The northern region is preparing to welcome a wave of cold air from the night of November 6, with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms in some areas, the Central Hydro-meteorological Forecast Centre has said.

According to the centre, from tomorrow morning, the cold air will affect the northern mountainous provinces and then extend to other areas in the region and certain parts of the Mid-Central region.

The northern region is forecast to embrace a cold air pressure on Wednesday night, with temperatures expected to drop to between 17 and 20 degrees Celsius, and between 15 and 17 degrees Celsius in the mountainous areas.

The national weather service also warned of strong winds and rough seas in the Gulf of Tonkin from the morning of November 8.

Downpours and thunderstorms are forecast for localities in provinces from Thanh Hoa to Thua Thien – Hue from November 7 to 11.

In Hanoi in particular, from the the night of November 7 the lowest temperatures are expected to be from 18 to 20 degrees Celsius.
