Tet gifts presented to policy beneficiaries, disadvantaged people

On January 11, a delegation of National Assembly deputies from the southern province of Phu Yen visited and presented gifts to local policy beneficiaries and victims of Agent Orange Dioxin on the occasion of the upcoming Lunar New Year (Tet).

The delegation, led by Deputy Head of the NA's Committee for Finance and Budget Dinh Van Nha,presented 400 Tet gifts worth VND500,000 each to policy beneficiaries and disadvantaged people in Tuy Hoa city, Song Cau town, Tuy An and Dong Xuan districts in Phu Yen province.

Nha sent his best Tet wishes to the locals, while expressing his wish that the local households would continue to overcome difficulties to stabilise their lives.

Phu Yen has more than 13,200 martyrs, 6,500 war invalids, 10,700 revolutionary contributors and thousands of victims of Agent Orange Dioxin.

The same day, the armed force of the northern province of Lang Son in coordination with the Lang Son General Hospital and the Operation Smile organisation provided free surgery for 18 children with cleft lips and palates in the province.

Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Duc Cuong, Deputy Head of the Military Youth Committee under the General Political Department of the Vietnam People's Army, said that this is one of the meaningful activities held in mountainous, remote and border areas across the country to care for policy beneficiaries and disadvantaged people.
