PM offers incense in commemoration of late senior leaders

Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc and Deputy Prime Minister Truong Hoa Binh offered incense in commemoration of late Party, State and Government leaders in Ho Chi Minh City on January 13.

The PM paid tribute to late Party General Secretary Nguyen Van Linh, who made significant contributions to the Doi moi (renewal) process of the nation.

The two Government leaders also burned incense to commemorate lawyer Nguyen Huu Tho, who was Acting President, Chairman of the National Assembly, and Vice Chairman of the State Council.

Later, PM Phuc and Deputy PM Binh offered incense to former Chairman of the State Council Vo Chi Cong, a shining example in the revolutionary cause of the Party and in the governance of the nation.

On the same day, PM Phuc visited the family of late PM Vo Van Kiet. PM Phuc recalled the great contributions of former PM Kiet from 1988 to 1997 as the country began to open its market and integrate into the region and the world.

With a strategic vision, PM Vo Van Kiet made many important decisions for the sustainable development of the Mekong Delta region that the incumbent Government is pursuing to boost the development of the region in adaptation to climate change.

PM Phuc also offered incense in remembrance of former PM Phan Van Khai, a leader with the ideology of comprehensive renewal.

PM Phuc and Deputy PM Binh also visited and presented gifts to families of the late leaders.
