Hanoi temperatures drop to 15C as cold air hits northern Vietnam

The highest temperature in the capital of Hanoi is expected to drop to 15C on January 16 when a mass of cold air will fully cover northern Vietnam, bringing rain across the region.

The new cold wave will first affect north-eastern provinces late on January 15 before spreading to the north-western and north-central regions the following day.

The lowest temperatures will range from 12-15C and 8-11C in mountainous areas, with the mercury falling below 8C in the higher mountains.

Rains are expected over the next two days in Hanoi, with the highest temperatures rising to 20C and above on Friday.
