The event was jointly held by the newspaper, the Party Committee of Hanoi and various other agencies, aiming to provide emotional support to soldiers and officers who are safeguarding the national sovereignty.

The handout of Tet newspapers to servicemen is a good example of the civil-military relationship.

Speaking at a ceremony on January 15, Nhan Dan Deputy Editor-in-chief Le Quoc Khanh stated that the activity has become a tradition of Nhan Dan Newspaper whenever the Lunar New Year approaches.

He added that the Tet issue of Nhan Dan Newspaper is a gift of its journalists to soldiers in remote areas.

On behalf of the recipients, Senior Colonel Van Ngoc Que of the Border Guard Command expressed his sincere thanks to the editorial board and staff of Nhan Dan Newspaper.

He emphasised that each newspaper not only provides current information to soldiers but also reflects their combat readiness along with the lives of people throughout the country.
