Diverse activities nationwide mark Youth Union’s 88th founding anniversary

A variety of activities are being held across the country to mark the 88th founding anniversary of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union (March 26, 1931-2019).

The Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union (HCYU) of Hanoi, in coordination with relevant agencies, organised a creative technical maneuver for young people in the municipal health sector at Bach Mai Hospital on March 17.

The event saw the engagement of nearly 600 young doctors and pharmacists and 155 technicians from 34 medical establishments across the capital city in a number of contents, including voluntary medical examinations for people in policy beneficiary and needy families, former youth volunteers and young people; a workshop themed “Application of information technology and artificial intelligence in the health sector”; an exhibition entitled “Youth creativity of the Hanoi health sector”; and the demonstration of 155 new topics and renovated techniques of the local health sector.

* On the same day, Vietnam Post and the HCYU of the Ministry of Information and Communications co-held the first-ever “Run for Younger Generations” tournament, featuring the participation of youth representatives of the post sector from 63 cities and provinces and many foreign partners. The event was launched on the occasion of the HCYU’s 88th founding anniversary in association with the “Pioneering, innovative and creative youth” movement.

* The HCYU of Thua Thien Hue province on March 17 organised a festival for youth union members and a programme honouring its outstanding youth union officials.

The festival took place with an array of animated activities, such as a flashmob show entitled “March Dance”, a Youth Festival camp, a photo exhibition on voluntary movements of youth union members, and cycling for environmental protection.

As part of the event, participants visited and presented gifts to child cancer patients and donated 200 meals to needy patients and their relatives at the Hue University of Medicine and Pharmacy Hospital.

On the occasion, the provincial HCYU honoured 18 exemplary youth union officials across diverse spheres, who have good expertise and morality, actively participate in youth movements, work out many practical initiatives, pioneer in voluntary activities, and set good examples among youth union members and young people.
