Youth Union’s founding anniversary marked nationwide

NDO – The youth across the nation celebrated the 88th founding anniversary of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union (HCMCYU) on March 26 with various practical activities.

On Tuesday morning, the Youth Union of the Ministry of Public Security held a conference in Hanoi to summarise the ten years of the movement of "Youths of the People's Police, implementing the Six Teachings by Uncle Ho" (2008-2018). Politburo member and Minister of Public Security General To Lam attended the event.

Over the past ten years, young police officers have effectively maintained more than 15,000 works and programmes in ensuring social security and building the police force, with about 3,500 scientific research projects and over 25,000 creative ideas. Youth Union units under the force have established more than 350 young science clubs and organised 550 technical creativity competitions.

Their volunteer movement for the community has been well implemented with a total value of more than VND253 billion having been collected. Over the past ten years, nearly 150,000 outstanding Union members have been honoured to join the Party.

On the same day, the Hanoi municipal Youth Union held a ceremony to honour 88 outstanding youths of the capital city in 2019.

Also on March 26, Politburo member and Secretary of Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee Nguyen Thien Nhan joined the city’s leaders to visit and congratulate the municipal Youth Union and its members on the occasion of the 88th founding anniversary of the HCMCYU.

A meeting to celebrate the anniversary was also held in Hanoi on Tuesday by the Youth Union under the Central Business Bloc.

Meanwhile, in Lang Son, the provincial People's Committee held a meeting on March 26 with over 150 outstanding Youth Union officials and members in the province.
