National Student Mathematical Olympiad wraps up

The 27th National Student Mathematical Olympiad officially wrapped up in Nha Trang city, in the central coastal province of Khanh Hoa, on April 6.

The event featured the participation of over 650 contestants from universities, academies, colleges and high schools around the country. They competed in two categories: Algebra and Calculus.

According to the Deputy Minister of Education and Training Nguyen Huu Do, the olympiad was not only a playground for students to show their passion for mathematics but also an opportunity for teachers to meet and share their experience, contributing to improving the quality of teaching and learning maths.

At the closing ceremony, the organising board presented 68 first, 114 second and 159 third prizes to the most outstanding contestants.

Notably, six excellent students were honourably presented certificates of merit from the Ministry of Education and Training, while nine students from high schools received awards from the Le Van Thiem Fund and 11 female students were given awards by Prof. Pham Thi Tran Chau - Chairwoman of Vietnam Female Intellectual Association.

The 28th National Student Mathematical Olympiad – 2020 will be held in Hue city, Thua Thien – Hue province.
