The exhibits were selected from the 285 paintings sent to a contest that was launched by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism (MoCST) to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the trail (1959-2019) and 44th anniversary of the Reunification Day (April 30, 1975-2019).

The propaganda paintings popularise to the public the patriotism and undaunted spirit of Vietnamese people and army, who embraced every hardship under the leadership of the Party and President Ho Chi Minh to construct the Truong Son Trail, in order to carry supplies to the Southern battlefield during the American war.

Works on display also convey the artists’ great gratitude to soldiers and youth volunteers who made significant contributions to the victory of the anti-US resistance war for national salvation and reunification.

The exhibition, co-organised by the MoCST and the Quang Binh provincial Department of Culture and Sports, will run until May 5.
