3,900 Vietnamese to work in RoK in 2019

As many as 3,900 Vietnamese workers will be recruited to work in the Republic of Korea (RoK) in 2019 according to the Employment Permit System (EPS) programme, the Ministry of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs (MOLISA) has announced.

Labourers working in the manufacturing, construction and fishery sectors who wish to apply for work in RoK will have to pass two tests including a Korean language proficiency test and a professional skills and competency test. The Korean language proficiency test this year will be held on a computer.

The MOLISA will recruit 1,000 workers in the manufacturing sector, 300 workers in the construction sector and 2,600 workers in the fishery sector.

Vietnamese labourers can send their registration for the tests from May 15 to 17 with the fee of US$24 per person.

The Korean language proficiency test for workers in the manufacturing and construction sectors is scheduled for July 2-31 and the professional skills and competency test will take place from September 18 to 21.

Meanwhile, applicants in the fishery sector will take the Korean language proficiency test between September 23 and October 11 and the professional skills and competency test from November 11 to 14 this year.

The final results of the tests for manufacturing and construction will be announced on August 14 and October 23, 2019.
