Ha Tinh celebrates 115th birth anniversary of first Party leader Tran Phu

Duc Tho district in Ha Tinh province held a ceremony on April 26 to mark the 115th birth anniversary of Tran Phu, the first General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam.

Addressing the ceremony, Secretary of the Duc Tho district’s Party Committee Vo Cong Ham recalled the life and career of comrade Tran Phu and his great contributions to the Party and people of Vietnam.

Although his revolutionary life was short, Tran Phufulfilled and left a huge number of works to theVietnamese Party and people, Ham said.

The political thesis drafted by Tran Phu outlined the path for the Vietnamese revolution to today’s victory, which is an extremely precious legacy. During his revolutionary life, Tran Phu always upheld the quality of revolutionary morality and infinite loyalty to the revolutionary cause of the Party, which, in turn, encouraged the revolutionary generations to overcome all difficulties to contribute to tVietnam’s revolutionary cause, Ham noted.

Tran Phu was born on May 1, 1904 in Tuy An district, Phu Yen province and his hometown was Tung Anh commune, Duc Tho district, Ha Tinh province.

He was elected as the first General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam in 1930 when he was 26 years old. He made the first draft of the Party political thesis in 1930. He was arrested on April 18, 1931 and died on September 6 of the same year.
