LPRP General Secretary and President Bounnhang Volachith wrote in the condolence book that the LPRP, National Assembly, Government and LFNC expressed their deep sorrow at the former Vietnamese President’s death.
Le Duc Anh’s passing away is a great loss to the Party, State and people of Vietnam as well as the Party, State and people of Laos, the Lao General Secretary wrote.
Comrade Le Duc Anh made significant contributions to the cause of national defence and construction during his 80-years of revolutionary activities both in war and peace.
He also made important contributions to strengthening the great friendship, special solidarity, and comprehensive cooperation between Laos and Vietnam over the past years, General Secretary Bounnhang Volachith wrote.
He noted that the LPRP, National Assembly, Government and LFNC would like to express their deep condolences to Vietnamese Party, National Assembly, State, Government and Fatherland Front Central Committee of Vietnam as well as the family and friends of former President Le Duc Anh.
*On the same day, Vietnamese Embassies in Cambodia, Thailand, Indonesia, Australia, Japan, India and others also held respect-paying ceremonies for former President Le Duc Anh.
At the respect-paying ceremony in Cambodia, Vietnamese Ambassador to Cambodia Vu Quang Minh recalled the considerable contributions of General Le Duc Anh to the relationship between Vietnam and Cambodia.
President of the Cambodian National Assembly Samdech Heng Samrin led a delegation from the Cambodian NA Standing Committee to pay tribute to former President Le Duc Anh, offering deep condolences to the Vietnamese leaders and people.
