Vice President extends greetings on Buddha’s birthday

Vice President Dang Thi Ngoc Thinh visited Thuong Chieu Monastery in Phuoc Thai commune, Long Thanh district, in the southern province of Dong Nai, on May 7, to offer her congratulations on the occasion of the Buddha’s 2563rd birth anniversary.

The VP extended her best wishes to Most Venerable Thich Thanh Tu, Deputy Supreme Patriarch of Patronage Council of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha, local dignitaries and followers on the important festival for Buddhists.

VP Thinh said the VBS in general and the Thuong Chieu Monastery in particular have actively participated in social welfare programmes and campaigns and contributed to the country’s development.

The VP expressed her hope that the Most Venerable and other Buddhist monks and nuns and followers will continue to effectively implement the Party guideline and policies, and the State’s laws, as well as patriotic movements, further contributing to the national great unity bloc and the cause of national construction and defence.

She also asked the provincial authorities to pay further attention to religions in the locality and the restoration of local places of worship in order to conserve the local religious culture.
