Accordingly, the cultural events include an exhibition on Buddhist culture in Vietnam and the world, a document photo exhibition on Vietnamese Buddhism, a Buddhist photo and painting exhibition, an artistic stone exhibition on Buddhism and nation, an exhibition featuring Buddhist cultural products, and a vegetarian food fair.

The excellent artworks on display at the exhibitions are all of high cultural and spiritual values, contributing to providing domestic and international visitors with a better insight into Vietnamese culture and Vietnamese Buddhist culture.

In particular, the organising committee lit seven lotuses on Tam Chuc Lake, a sacred symbol marking the seven pure steps of the Buddha when he appeared in life for peace and the happiness of humanity.

At the end of the programme, the venerable monks on the organising board performed the ritual of lighting flower lanterns to pray for the success of the UN Day of Vesak Celebrations 2019.

The UN Day of Vesak Celebrations 2019 will take place at the Tam Chuc Buddhist Cultural Complex from May 12 to 14, with the participation of more than 1,600 dignitaries and leaders of Buddhist sanghas and sects, and professors, doctors and Buddhism researchers and scholars from over 100 countries and territories around the world. This will be the third time that the UN Day of Vesak Celebrations has been hosted by Vietnam.
