Activities mark President Ho Chi Minh’s birth anniversary

Activities are being held across the country to celebrate the the 129th birth anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh (May 19, 1890 – 2019).

The Communist Party of Vietnam Online Newspaper debuted a new look for its information site on President Ho Chi Minh at http://hochiminh.vn/.

Since its launch four years ago, the site has attracted dozens of millions of online readers from home and abroad who are searching for information about the life and career of the Vietnam’s great leader.

The new look of the site was developed with modern technology and an updated database on works penned by President Ho Chi Minh and publications about the President as well as documentary films and photos on him.

The Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee held a ceremony on May 14 to honour 153 collectives and 239 individuals who stood out in the campaign to study and follow Uncle Ho’s ideology, morality and lifestyle.

While applauding the honourees, Politburo member and Secretary of the city Party’s Committee, Nguyen Thien Nhan called on all Party members and residents in the city to make greater efforts to further develop Ho Chi Minh City.

Similar honouring ceremonies were also organised in Soc Trang and Nghe An province to praise exemplary models in studying and following Uncle Ho’s examples in the localities.
