Further activities held to mark President Ho Chi Minh’s birthday

The Voice of Vietnam (VOV) in coordination with the Vietnam Journalists’ Association and the Linguistic Society of Vietnam held a get-together on May 15 to celebrate the 129th birth anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh.

The meeting was attended by former Politburo member and former Secretary of Hanoi Party Committee Pham Quang Nghi; VOV General Director Nguyen The Ky; leaders from Nhan Dan newspaper and the Ministry of Information and Communications; among others.

Speaking at the event, Nguyen The Ky emphasised that the get-together is an opportunity for Vietnamese people to show their respect and gratitude to great President Ho Chi Minh as well as predecessors of the revolution in order to follow the ideology and morality of President Ho Chi Minh.

During the meeting the Organising Board released three books on President Ho Chi Minh, the press and the Vietnamese language.

*The Central Public Security Party Committee, the Ministry of Public Security and Bac Giang province held an incense offering ceremony at the President Ho Chi Minh memorial site in Nha Nam commune, Tan Yen district, Bac Giang province, on May 15.

Deputy Minister of Public Security, Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Van Thanh said that over the past 50 years the Public Security force has learned and followed Uncle Ho’s Testament and six golden rules for the public security force.

There are many examples of police officers who bravely face hardships and dangers to fight against crime, maintain social order and defend national security for the peace and happiness of the people, Thanh noted.

On the evening of May 14, the Ministry of Public Security held an art performance to honour President Ho Chi Minh at the President Ho Chi Minh memorial site in Nha Nam commune.

*The Party Committee of Soc Trang province held a seminar on May 15 on the implementation of President Ho Chi Minh’s Testament, discussing the meaning of the Testament and results of the province’s implementation of the Testament in Party building work.
