The three-day festival features a string of activities, including a flower offering to pay tribute to President Ho Chi Minh at his statue in Vinh city, a parade from Vinh city to his hometown in Sen village and an exhibition on the Party and Uncle Ho, plus various art performances, sporting events and folk games.
The highlight of the festival is a singing contest which gathers 12 art troupes from districts and towns in Nghe An province.
Also in celebration of President Ho Chi Minh’s birth, an exhibition opened at the Presidential Palace in Hanoi on May 17 in the presence of Deputy Prime Minister Vu Duc Dam.

The exhibition displays 74 photos and documents recounting Uncle Ho’s activities during the period of time when he lived and worked at the Presidential Palace from December 19, 1954 to September 2, 1969.
The exhibits vividly illustrate the President’s huge contributions to national construction, defence and development, as well as to peace and social progress throughout the world.
Meanwhile, an exhibition opened at Ho Chi Minh Museum’s branch in Thua Thien – Hue province under the theme ‘Ho family in the west of Thua Thien – Hue: History and Witnesses’.
More than 250 pictures, documents and objects on display at the exhibition highlight the touching sentiment between President Ho Chi Minh and ethnic groups in the west of the province, who voluntarily adopted President Ho Chi Minh’s family name “Ho” to show gratitude towards the beloved President.
