NDO – The Voice of Vietnam held a press conference on May 28 to announce its annual children’s singing contest under the theme ‘I Love My Country’ as an event to celebrate International Children's Day (June 1).

The final round of the contest will feature 40 performances by children and children’s clubs nationwide, and the the winning entries will be honoured at an awards ceremony scheduled for May 30.

The event aims to provide an entertainment venue for children and to seek out more young singing talents across the country.

A host of activities designed for children and young people will be organised throughout June at the Vietnam National Village for Ethnic Culture and Tourism, in the Dong Mo tourism area of Son Tay town, Hanoi.

Children at the event will be invited to play folk games, join reading spaces, try their hands at making traditional toys and learn how to recycle plastic bottles into useful items.

During the celebrations for International Children's Day, a festival will also be observed at the Vietnam Exhibition Centre for Culture and Arts (VECCA) in Hanoi this month, featuring colourful art performances, an exhibition of winning entries from a children’s painting contest, and many other interesting activities.

Meanwhile, the Vietnam Museum of Ethnology in Hanoi will offer children an opportunity to enjoy exciting water puppetry shows, join a painting contest on the theme of environmental protection, and play folk games, such as tug of war, bag jumping, and stilt walking.
