On Wednesday, the ultraviolet (UV) alert is set at a high level that can harm the human body, with UV indicator ranging from 6-9 in Hanoi, Da Nang and Ho Chi Minh City.
In addition, due to the influence of wind convergence on the 1,500m height, the northern mountainous area will suffer from torrential rains and thunderstorms from Wednesday evening.
Hanoi is forecast to be hot and sunny with highest temperatures ranging from 35 to 37C today, with heavy rains and strong winds expected in several places this evening.
