The programme, the third of its kind, was co-organised by Da Nang City’s Association of Charities and Children's Rights Protection, the city’s Department of Culture and Sports, the city’s Youth Union, and Da Nang Television.

At the event, the organising board presented gifts and 100 scholarships worth VND 200 million in totals to 100 poor students who have overcome their difficulties to gain excellent academic results at schools.

VND 600 million was also presented to 12 poor households in the city on the occasion.

In the same effort to support underprivileged people in the city, the Da Nang City’s Association of Charities and Children's Rights Protection hosted a series of activities from April to early June of this year, including providing free health examinations and gifts to poor children and people in Tam Thuan ward, presenting 132 wheelchairs to people with disabilities in Hai Chau district and more than 500 eyeglasses to elderly people living in difficulties in Hoa Hai district.

The association also organised communication campaigns targeting 3,000 children and 1,000 adults to raise their awareness of child trafficking and child sexual abuse, child injuries, violence against children, and child rights.
