Nhan Dan Newspaper’s photo wins first prize at press awards on youth

Nhan Dan (People) Newspaper’s photojournalist Nguyen Dang Khoa has won first prize in the ‘press photo’ category at the 2019 national press awards on youth work.

Khoa was honoured at an awards ceremony in Hanoi on June 18for his series of photos entitled ‘Power of young volunteers’. One second and one third-place prizes were also presented to other outstanding photos.

In the ‘good people, good deeds’ category, the organising board awarded one first, two second, three third and five consolation prizes, with the first prize going to a series of articles titled ‘Kind-hearted stories’ by Xuan Tung, Uyen Phuong and Le Giang Thanh from Tien Phong (Vanguard) Newspaper.

In addition, one first, two second, three third and five consolation prizes were awarded to the most outstanding works in the division for ‘reportage, interviews and articles on union work and the youth movement’. Thanh Nien (Youth) Newspaper’s Nu Vuong, Thuy Hang and Ha Anh won the first prize for their articles titled ‘Don’t be a young person with a lack of legal knowledge’.

This year’s event attracted 648 submissions in different categories that comprehensively reflected the youth union work and children and teenager movements across the country.
