Politburo member and Head of the Party Central Committee’s Organisation Commission Pham Minh Chinh joined leaders of Military Zone IV and Ha Tinh province to inspect forest fire fighting in Nghi Xuan and Huong Son districts.
Chinh praised the police, military, local authorities and people for their efforts in the timely response and deployment of flexible solutions to contain and extinguish the fires, helping to reduce damages to the lowest levels.
He noted that it is most important to coordinate closely to localise and effectively control the fires in Nghi Xuan. For Huong Son, local forces need to focus on making fire-resistant roads, preventing the fires from spreading on a large scale, while standing ready to relocate households near the forest edge to ensure the highest safety of people's lives and property.
Local authorities were asked to urgently support people in the affected areas, helping them promptly stabilise their lives. Localities also need to raise vigilance and warnings on all communication channels and strengthen legal education to raise awareness for people in forest protection and forest fire prevention.

The same day, on the occasion of his working visit to meet local voters, Politburo member and Deputy Prime Minister Vuong Dinh Hue inspected forest fire fighting in Ha Tinh.
The forest fire in Nghi Xuan district was controlled, however, the deputy PM requested the local authorities and concerned forces to stay focused as the severe hot summer continues, especially in Ha Tinh in July.
Local forces must regularly arrange resources, means and plans to respond to new developments in forest fire prevention and fighting. At the same time, it is necessary to review the locations that have been controlled and continue to handle potential fires while always keeping in touch and ensuring the highest safety for participating forces and people living close to the foot of the mountain where the fires have occurred.
Local authorities were asked to actively propagate and diversify information channels to transfer information of forest fires to people by loudspeaker and SMS.
In the five peak hot days from June 26 to June 30, there were hundreds of forest fire outbreaks in the central provinces, of which 15 fires damaged more than 100 ha of forests.
