The service took place at Hill 82 National Martyrs Cemetery on the occasion of the 72nd anniversary of Vietnam’s Remembrance Day (July 27).

In a solemn atmosphere, Chairwoman Ngan, military officials, local leaders and people attending paid their respects to the fallen soldiers who sacrificed their lives for national independence and international services.

In his eulogy, Tay Ninh Vice Chairman Nguyen Thanh Ngoc stated that the fallen soldiers’ heroic images will always be remembered by all generations of Vietnamese people.

He added that the war has long been over but many soldiers have yet to be able to return to their motherland.

In recent years, the Tay Ninh authorities have worked with the Cambodian side to search for and repatriate thousands of sets of remains of Vietnamese voluntary soldiers who died in Cambodia.

On the same day, National Assembly Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan visited the site of the Central Office for South Vietnam in Tan Lap commune of Tan Bien district.
