According to an announcement of the Ministry of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs, civil servants and officials will be granted three-day leave from Saturday, August 31, to Monday, September 2.

The ministry also took notice of agencies and units that do not have regular weekend breaks to arrange appropriate holidays based on their specific programmes and plans.

The three-day leave is among the total of 21 days for 2019 public holidays granted for State employees in 2019.

On September 2, 1945, at the historic Ba Dinh Square, President Ho Chi Minh read the Declaration of Independence, giving birth to the Democratic Republic of Vietnam, now the Socialist Republic of Vietnam.
