Held jointly by the Hanoi Heart Association and the Hanoi Heart Hospital, the conference saw 500 scientific papers registered, in which over 200 reports presented at multiple specialised seminars.

Experts discussed new perspectives in coronary artery disease, coronary reperfusion, peripheral coronary intervention, heart failure, stroke, hypertension and pathologies related to diabetic and hypertensive patients.

As one of the most important events of Vietnam's cardiovascular sector in 2019, the conference offered a good opportunity for cardiologists at home and abroad to exchange expertise as well as share their knowledge on new methods of diagnosis and treatment of cardiovascular diseases, with "connect the cardiovascular community” as the main theme of the conference, contributing to bringing healthy hearts to Vietnamese people.

On the occasion, the Hanoi Heart Hospital was honoured with the third-class Labour Order for its contribution to public healthcare over the last 15 years, since its establishment. Individuals and teams from the hospital with outstanding achievements were also presented with noble awards, among them Prof. Dr. Nguyen Quang Tuan, the hospital’s director, was awarded the third-class Labour Order.

The Hanoi Heart Hospital has been recognised by the Ministry of Health as a key hospital specialised in cardiology. It serves as a core hospital for dozens of satellite medical facilities in cardiology.
