Vietnamese language class in Ukraine opens new school year

On September 11, a Vietnamese language class for Vietnamese children in Kiev city, Ukraine, organised an opening ceremony of the new school year 2019-2020.

The ceremony was attended by representatives of the Vietnamese Embassy in Ukraine, the Association of Vietnamese People in Kiev and Vietnamese Women's Association in Kiev, organisations, donors, parents and nearly 50 students of the Vietnamese language class.

On behalf of the Vietnamese Embassy, Counsellor Ho Trung Thanh sent greetings to the teachers and students on the occasion of the new school year 2019-2020, expressing his joy about the development of the Vietnamese language class in Kiev. He also highly appreciated the efforts of teachers and students in organising the Vietnamese Language Olympic competition at the end of the previous school year.

At the event, teacher Do Thi Hoa Ly reviewed the situation of the school year 2018-2019, thanked the Embassy, the Association of Vietnamese People in Kiev and the organising committee of the class, who have offered teachers the opportunity to contribute to preserve Vietnamese. She expressed her hope that pupils will be more and more attachment to their homeland, traditional culture and language.

The maintenance and development of the movement of teaching and learning Vietnamese for the Vietnamese community in Ukraine in particular and abroad in general is necessary, contributing to preserving and promoting of the traditional cultural values of Vietnam and in accordance with guidelines and policies of the Party and the State on the work for the overseas Vietnamese community.
