The events were under the "I love my Motherland” journey, which arrived in Ca Mau, its second destination, on Sunday, following the campaign’s launch in the northern province of Phu Tho a week earlier.
Along with the delegation from various provinces and cities across the country joining the "I love my Motherland” journey, hundreds of Ca Mau’s youths gathered at the Km2436 monument – the end of the legendary Ho Chi Minh Trail.
They arranged themselves in the map of Vietnam, sang the national anthem and witnessed Vietnam Youth Federation representatives present 100 national flags to local fishermen to encourage them to head to the sea to protect the national independence and sovereignty.

The delegates also joined activities in various local projects to help boost Ca Mau’s rural area development and to clean the sea, as well as in planting mangroves to prevent coastal erosion and joining cultural exchanges during the event.
Local youth also participated in an "I love my Motherland" photo contest on social networks, encouraging young people to propagate and share photos showing their love for their homeland.

On the occasion, the organisers performed the ceremony to pass the torch of the "I love my Motherland" to Ho Chi Minh City – the next destination of the journey on October 20.
The campaign, which is jointly held by the Vietnam Youth Union, Vietjet Aviation Joint Stock Company and Thanh Nien (Youth) Newspaper, will next run through Ho Chi Minh City, Khanh Hoa, Kon Tum, Da Nang, Nghe An, Dien Bien and Ha Giang, before ending in Hanoi on December 10, ahead of the eighth national congress of the Vietnam Youth Federation for the 2019-2024 tenure.
