Dakrong 4 hydro power plant was started construction from January 2018, the project was completed after 18 months, with a total investment of nearly VND 1,400 billion.
The plant has a capacity to produce 28 MW of electricity a day and is expected to produce on average 85 million kWh per year.
The plant is expected to not only supply power to the national grid but also help to regulate water sources, improve the environment as well as the standard of living for ethnic minority people in the mountainous areas of Dakrong district, which is one of the poorest districts nationwide.
In addition to the investment capital for Dakrong 4 hydro power plant, Son Hai Group Company Limited also spent more than VND 46 billion to upgrade and cover asphalt-concrete road carpets linking Ho Chi Minh roads to the project, to serve the socio-economic development of the three communes surrounding the factory.
Son Hai Group currently has four construction investment projects in the energy sector in Quang Tri, including two wind power projects and two hydropower projects.
According to Quang Tri Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Duc Chinh, after all four of the group's energy projects are put into operation, they will contribute several hundred billion VND to the provincial budget each year.
