Xmas greetings conveyed to Catholics, Protestants nationwide

Leaders have joined delegations to visit and convey Christmas greetings to Catholics and Protestants nationwide on the occasion of the 2019 Christmas holiday.

On December 23, representatives from the Da Nang City authorities visited and congratulated the Bishop Office of Da Nang Diocese, the Vietnam Christian Mission and the representative board of the Evangelical Church of Vietnam (South) on the occasion of Christmas 2019.

At the meetings, the city leaders acknowledged and appreciated the contributions of dignitaries and fellow Christians in preserving and promoting the patriotic tradition and well implementing the guidelines and policies of the Party, State and the city.

The concerned dignitaries expressed their sincere thanks to the city leaders and affirmed that Christian dignitaries and followers would always obey and implement the Party and State's guidelines and policies, contributing to consolidating of the great national unity bloc.

★ Also on Monday, a delegation from the Dak Lak Provincial Party Committee visited the Bishop Office of Ban Me Thuot Diocese, the Provincial Catholic Solidarity Committee and the Ale A Protestant Association in Buon Ma Thuot City.

The representatives of the Provincial Party Committee informed the hosts of Dak Lak’s achievements in 2019, while conveying Christmas greetings to all the Catholics and Protestants in the province.

★ On the same day, a delegation from the Central Committee of the Vietnam Youth Federation (VYF) visited and congratulated the Archbishop’s Office of Hanoi Archdiocese and the General Confederation of the Evangelical Church of Vietnam (North).

The VYF representatives praised the youth in general and Catholic youth in particular for their participation in the social security activities of the VYF, for preserving and promoting the patriotic tradition, and for taking the lead in participating in socio-economic and cultural development tasks, as well as maintaining national defence and security.

On behalf of the Archbishop’s Office of Hanoi Archdiocese, Archbishop Joseph Vu Van Thien thanked the VYF leaders for their Christmas visit, expressing his hope that the federation would continue to create favourable conditions for Catholic youths to continue to participate in the VYF activities, while developing more activities with the Hanoi Archdiocese to attract a large number of young people to participate in.

Visiting the Evangelical Church of Vietnam (North), the VYF leaders expressed their wish that the Church will continue to create the conditions for young people to participate in the movements held by the federation to contribute more to the country’s development, while urging the Church to coordinate with the VYF to look after young people in general and young religious people in particular.

★ Leaders in the provinces of Lang Son and Thua Thien - Hue also joined visits to congratulate local Catholics and Protestants on the occasion.
