Vietnam confirms 16th Covid-19 infection case

A 50-year-old man from Son Loi commune, Binh Xuyen district, northern Vinh Phuc province, has been tested positive for the novel coronavirus (Covid-19), according to the health ministry.

This has brought the total number of Covid-19 infection cases in Vietnam to 16, with 11 of them coming from Vinh Phuc.

He is the father of a patient named N.T.D, one of the eight people who returned from Wuhan. The man stayed in the same house as patient N.T.D during the time D returned to Vietnam from Wuhan until she was quarantined at a polyclinic.

The mother and sister of patient D have also been confirmed to have Covid-19 and are being treated at a medical facility.

At present, the man is being quarantined at a polyclinic in Binh Xuyen district and is in a stable condition.

So far, Vietnam has successfully cured seven Covid-19 patients.
