On behalf of the embassy and the Vietnamese community in the ROK, Vietnamese Ambassador to the ROK Nguyen Vu Tu thanked the VKBIA and VKEIA for their dedicated support at the reception in Seoul on April 9.

The diplomat emphasised that the gifts from VKBIA and VKEIA function not only as material support, but also as a great source of encouragement for the Vietnamese community in the country in the prevention and control of COVID-19.

Ambassador Tu also praised VKBIA for providing timely support to the community in the epidemic centre of Daegu-Gyeongbuk right from the start of COVID-19 outbreak in the country, followed by a series of activities calling for support to the fight against the disease in both Vietnam and the ROK.

Representatives from the association also visited isolated camps in Vietnam to give gifts in support of both Vietnamese and Koreans undergoing quarantine there, thus contributing to tightening and further promoting the Vietnam - ROK friendship, Tu said.

Earlier, on April 4, a delegation from the VKEIA visited and presented 1,000 medical masks and 50 hand sanitisers to District 2 Hospital in Ho Chi Minh City.

On April 8, VKEIA also toured the Military Corps 4’s Military School, one of the units assigned to host a concentrated quarantine camp for COVID-19 prevention and control in Ho Chi Minh City. They donated 1,500 medical masks, hand sanitisers and 100 barrels of mineral water to the facility.
