No new COVID-19 cases reported on the morning of April 10

There were no new cases of SARS-CoV-2 infection reported in Vietnam overnight, the National Steering Committee for COVID-19 Prevention and Control said on the morning of April 10. That means the total amount of people with the coronavirus has remainedat 255 since late April 9, with 128 having made full recovery.

Of those with the disease, 158 or 62.2 percent are imported cases, while 97 others contracted the virus from other patients in the country. It is expected that 14 more people will be given the all-clear on April 10, including ten at the National Hospital for Tropical Diseases No. 2 in Hanoi, one at the General Hospital of Bac Ninh province, one at the Da Nang Hospital in the central city, and two others at the General Hospital of Binh Thuan province.

* Vice Director of the Ministry of Public Security’s Department of Foreign Relations and Standing Vice President of the Vietnam – Laos Friendship Association (VLFA)'s chapter in the public security force Nguyen Minh Hieu has presented VND100 million (US$4,300) and 1,000 medical masks to the Laos – Vietnam Friendship Association (LVFA).

At the hand-over ceremony in Hanoi on April 9, Vice Chairman and Secretary General of the VLFA Nguyen Van My thanked the VLFA chapter for providing its timely support to the LVFA.

* Deputy Minister of Construction Le Quang Hung chaired a meeting in Hanoi on April 9 to implement the Government's direction on the construction of a field hospital for emergency prevention of the COVID-19 epidemic.

Under the direction of the Government and the National Steering Committee for COVID-19 Prevention and Control, the Ministry of Construction shall coordinate with relevant ministries and branches to formulate typical designs and estimates of construction of a large-scale field hospital, meeting the required functions of the Ministry of Health.

* The Vietnamese community in Russia has actively launched various movements to help each other overcome negative impacts of the COVID-19 epidemic.

So far, over RUB270,000 was donated while more than20,000 cloth masks were presented to both Vietnamese and Russian people as efforts to prevent the spread of the epidemic in the country.

In addition, through social networks, overseas Vietnamese in Russia have also regularly updated each other on the situation of the Covid-19 epidemic in Russia and the new policies of the Government to help raise the community's awareness on the epidemic prevention and control.
