More support for people affected by COVID-19 pandemic

A ‘rice ATM’ machine accompanied with 16 tonnes of rice was installed in Binh Hung Hoa ward, Binh Tan district, Ho Chi Minh City on May 8 to support needy people affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.

The machine and rice was donated by the US-based Project Vietnam Foundation.

After all the rice has been distributed to needy people, the Ho Chi Minh City Union of Friendship Organisations (HUFO), the Project Vietnam Foundation and other sponsors will continue to supply more rice to people in need.

Chairman of Vietnam Fatherland Front in Binh Tan district Le Van Bay thanked HUFO and Project Vietnam Foundation for their timely aid, helping to ease difficulties for needy people in the locality.

The State Committee for Overseas Vietnamese Affairs held a ceremony in Hanoi on May 8 to receive medical supplies from the Flamingo Holding Group to assist overseas Vietnamese in Russia, the UK, and France in their fight against COVID-19 pandemic.

Vice chairman of the committee Luong Thanh Nghi greatly appreciated the invaluable support of individuals and organisations at home and abroad towards overseas Vietnamese, especially those in the UK, France, and Russia.

Nghi received 43,000 face masks and medicine for overseas Vietnamese in Russia, as well as 10,000 face masks for those in the UK and 10,000 face masks for those in France.
