EVN has also recommended that departments of tourism, culture, and health in provinces and cities should quickly identify travel companies and quarantine facilities for COVID-19 prevention so that EVN can reduce electricity prices for them.

The Government approved the reduction in electricity prices for people affected by the COVID-19 pandemic in mid-April. Accordingly, all household customers will enjoy a discount of 10% in their electricity bills for consumption levels below 300 kWh per month.

The discount will also be applied to more than two million businesses and tourism facilities. About 22.8 million households are expected to benefit from the 10% discount.

EVN estimates that the relief package would be nearly VND11 trillion (US$470 million).
