According to the Departments of Labour, War Invalids and Social Affairs in 63 cities and provinces, as of May 20, cash payments had benefited more than 15.8 million people, including national contributors, social policy beneficiaries, poor and near-poor households.
As many as 34 cities and provinces have completed payment to the four groups of beneficiaries in the localities.
The disbursement of the relief packages has also been accelerated in other localities, and the work is expected to be completed by the end of May.
Minister of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs Dao Ngoc Dung underscored that measures have been put in place to ensure the transparency of the funding in order to ensure the support went to the right people.
