Ceramic painting features Uncle Ho and naval forces, fishermen

A draft of a ceramic painting featuring President Ho Chi Minh and naval forces, fishermen and an oil portrait of Uncle Ho were recently presented to the High Command of the Vietnam Navy.

The gifts were delivered by painter Nguyen Thu Thuy and her colleagues from the New Hanoi Arts Company to mark the 130th birth anniversary of Uncle Ho and the 65th founding anniversary of the Vietnam People’s Army.

The draft of the ceramic painting, framed by painters Nguyen Thu Thuy and Do Nhu Diem, features a smiling Uncle Ho in the centre, surrounded by naval soldiers and fisherman.

They stand together with the Vietnamese national flag being set in the background to show their determination to safeguard the national sovereignty and territorial integrity of the country’s seas and islands.

A boy stands in front of President Ho, holding a dove stood on his arm, representing the aspiration for peace of the Vietnamese people.

Meanwhile, the oil painting measures 80 x 100 cm and portrays Uncle Ho with a sailor cap. The painting was adapted from a photo of President Ho when he joined the Russian astronaut Gherman Titov to visit Ha Long Bay in Vietnam’s Quang Ninh province on January 22, 1962.
