Youths deploy various voluntary projects nationwide

Young people nationwide have implemented various meaningful and practical activities in response to the 2020 Summer Youth Volunteer campaign.

According to the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union, the 2020 Summer Youth Volunteer programme will focus on fulfilling a number of goals such as repairing 2,000 km of rural roads and building an additional 500 km; building 200 coastal clean-up points; providing free medical examination and medicine distribution for 200,000 people across the country; and build 700 social houses, among others.

The Youth Union of Phan Thiet City has launched a programme entitled “Phan Thiet Youths: creative and volunteering for the community” with many practical activities, such as providing information dissemination on traffic safety, prevention and control of the COVID-19 epidemic at primary, secondary and high schools; raising awareness on plastic waste and environmental sanitation; and organising free swimming classes for disadvantaged children, etc.

On June 3, the Trade Union and Youth Union of the General Department of Taxation organised a voluntary blood donation programme with the participation of about 500 officials and employees of the General Department.

The Youth Union of Quynh Phu District, Thai Binh Province, has organised a festival entitled “Young physicians follow Uncle Ho’s teachings and volunteer for the community”.

At the festival, young physicians conducted liver cancer screening tests, nutrition advice, and health check-up formore than 120 local people.

Gifts worth VND200,000 and 10kg of rice each were also presented to needy families in the district on this occasion.
