The festival is an annual event to mark Vietnam Family Day on June 28, promote the traditional values of Vietnamese families, and raise public awareness of the importance of observing the Party’s polices and the State’s laws on family in modern society.

Entitled “Preserve and promote cultural traditions and good behaviours within the family”, the three-day festival featured an array of exhibitions and artistic events honouring the values of Vietnam’s family culture.

There was a four-section exhibition on family within the cultural traditions of Vietnamese ethnic communities, a photo exhibition promoting the role of women and mothers in families, and a book exhibition aiming to foster reading culture and develop connections between family members.

The festival sees the participation of delegations from Hanoi, Hai Phong City, and the provinces of Thai Binh, Binh Thuan, Lam Dong and Dak Lak who will introduce their localities’ achievements in both family and women’s work, child protection and care, poverty reduction, economic development, domestic violence prevention and control, family emulation movements, and the operation of family clubs.

As one of the most important activities of the Vietnam Exhibition Centre for Culture and Arts after the suspension period due to the impact of the Covid-19 epidemic, the Vietnam Family Festival 2020 opened a series of new events at the centre under the direction of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism.
