The facility, which covers 42 hectares in Nhon Hai Commune, Ninh Hai District, was invested in by Licogi 16 with total capital of VND750 billion (US$32.5 million).
Following the completion of the construction and equipment installation work on May 28, the solar farm was connected to the national power grid a month later.
Licogi 16 General Director Tang Quoc Thuoc said that the solar farm will contribute 59 million kWh and generate revenue of VND136 billion (US$5.9 million) each year. It has also created many jobs for local residents.
To date, 23 solar farms have been put into operation in Ninh Thuan Province, with a combined capacity of 1,403 MWp.
Another eight facilities are scheduled for completion by the end of 2020, raising the total capacity to 2,123 MWp, which is expected to generate 2.5 billion kWh of electricity each year.
