Prior to the flight, the Vietnamese embassy in Brunei was active in supporting the stranded citizens in the completion of their boarding process.

During the flight, strict security and safety measures on disease prevention and control were closely observed in order to protect the health of passengers and prevent the spread of the disease.

Upon their arrival at Can Tho International Airport in Can Tho city, all passengers and crew members were given health checks and quarantined as per regulation.

The Vietnamese Embassy in Australia, Vietnamese General Consulates in Sydney and Perth are working closely with the national flag carrier Vietnam Airlines and relevant agencies to conduct a flight on August 7 to carry a total of 307 Vietnamese citizens home from Australia and New Zealand.

Following the Prime Minister’s directions, domestic authorities and Vietnam’s overseas representative offices will continue making plans to fly Vietnamese citizens home, depending on the citizens’ needs and the country’s quarantine capacity.
