K Hospital commences upgrade of Quan Su and Tam Hiep branches

The Vietnam National Cancer Hospital (known as K Hospital) held a groundbreaking ceremony for the upgrade of K Hospital’s Quan Su and Tam Hiep branches on July 31.

The project has a total investment of VND750 billion(US$32.6 million) including VND700 billion (US$30.4 million) sourced from Government bonds.

A new multi-purpose 10-storey building will be built at K Hospital’s Quan Su branch. The building covers an area of approximately 26,000m2 and will be equipped withmedical examination areas, laboratories and equipment to accommodate 200 inpatients and 120 outpatients.

Meanwhile, the Tam Hiep branch will be repaired and equipped with new medical equipment to accommodate 200 inpatients.

Addressing the ceremony, Deputy Minister of Health Truong Quoc Cuong expressed his belief that the hospital would make more progress when the project is completed in the future.

He emphasised that the large investment of VND700 billion demonstrated the attention of the Party and State tothe development of the hospital while asking the hospital to ensure the progress and quality of the project as scheduled.

The upgrade project marks the development of the K Hospital and celebrates the 100th anniversary of the Curie Institute of Indochina, the precursor of the K Hospital.
